Web Publishing Guidance
Before Partner Schools produce material to be published on this Website, please check that the following have been observed:
- Surnames of children must not be used, either in narrative text or on images of their work.
- Photographs of single, or small groups of children, working should not feature clear views of faces. Profile or semi-profile images will be accepted provided:
- The contributing school has the written consent of the child(ren)'s parents for the material to be included on the BLC Website.
- The images focus primarily on the task, artefact or outcome rather then the child.
- Photographs of large groups of children will be accepted provided individual children are not readily identifiable, or that those who can be identified have the parental permission described above.
- Any copyright material included in the work is the responsibility of the contributing school. Usually, if appropriate referencing is used, there isn't a problem, but please check if you're unsure.
- The following formats for material can be accepted, but it is more convenient if photographs or graphics are kept as separate files from text wherever possible:
- Software types: MS Word, Publisher, Powerpoint, Textease, PDF files (Adobe Acrobat) or plain text (e.g. emails, .txt files, etc)
- Image Types: JPEGs (.jpg), Bitmaps, (.bmp), GIFs, TIFFs, Ulead Files (.ufo) or Windows Metafile (.wmf)
- Multimedia files: Midi Files (midi), Movie Files (mpeg), Windows Audio Files (wav) or Windows Video files (avi)
- Alternatively, you can send physical artefacts in for publication. Please email to arrange this.
